Board members reported that the city council conducted a working meeting on Nov. 30 to interview applicants for several boards and that the library board’s recommended candidate is Arin McCarthy. "So our person, his name is Joe Smith. Nope... Arin McCarthy," the Chair said as the candidate was named during the meeting.
Board members described Arin McCarthy as an unincorporated resident with leadership experience and a stated interest in literacy; one attendee noted McCarthy indicated an RN background when introducing herself. The council was scheduled to meet Dec. 15 to appoint new board members; if the council appoints Arin McCarthy she is expected to begin her role in January.
