Cloud Lake officials discussed an ongoing homeless‑encampment issue at The Preserve after an email report from D/S Jason Ekstrom of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. According to the report, PBSO recommends erecting "No Trespassing" signage so deputies can remove trespassers and their belongings without a town official being present.
The PBSO outline specifies that "The sign will have the Town of Cloud Lake in 2" letters and an Owner Applied Number (OAN) underneath," and that the OAN would be stored in PBSO’s Business Partnership Program database. The Clerk was authorized to contact PBSO to begin the process and, once approved, to contact Kauff’s Signs and Lettering to purchase and install the signs; Councilmember Kathleen Hoock volunteered to be the After‑Hours Contact with Vice Mayor Marion Chateau‑Flagg as the Additional Contact. Town Attorney William P. Doney advised that because there was no quorum the action be placed on the March agenda for ratification.
