Parks staff report Deerpoint Park construction progress; playground installation to begin Sept. 18

Tiana reported that Deerpoint Park construction is moving forward and that work on the walking path was about to ramp up. "Starting September 18, the installation of the playground begins," Tiana said, and staff noted concrete will be poured the next day on the walking path forms.
Tiana also said crews rebuilt a pedestrian bridge at the backside of Sandy Bluff using wood harvested from the 2024 storm on Tickle Creek Trail; staff reopened a nearby viewpoint after vegetation trimming. The update emphasized that visible site changes will appear over the next several weeks as crews complete the next phases of work.
Staff asked members to visit the site and noted the projects are on schedule for the current construction phase.
