Lincoln County commissioners voted to pay two Public Land and Indemnity (PILT) invoices during their Feb. 4 meeting.
The board approved a $21,688 invoice to HDR Engineering for the county’s feasibility work on a proposed biomass system. A commissioner asked whether HDR was actively pursuing grant funding to offset the project; staff said HDR had reported grant-seeking activity but the invoice did not itemize grant-related work. "I'll reach out to them," staff said, indicating county follow-up to clarify whether outside funds are being pursued.
In a separate vote the commissioners approved a $711 invoice to Freyer & Associates for legal work connected to a land conveyance with the U.S. Forest Service. Staff reported coordination with legislative offices and said progress is constrained by congressional timing and continuing resolutions in Washington. The board approved both payments by voice vote.
The approvals were routine disbursements from PILT funds; commissioners asked staff to report back with any updates on grant status and federal coordination. No public comments were raised on either invoice at the meeting.
