PBSO reports 13 calls; PBCFR announces new station opening Jan. 29

At the Jan. 8 meeting, D/S Jason Ekstrom gave the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office monthly activity report: "13 calls: residential checks, couple of domestic calls, and only crime was a fraud case." Battalion Chief Ronald Martinez reported no calls for the period, said crews enjoyed the Christmas party and announced a new fire station on Lyons Road (south of Lake Worth Road) opening Jan. 29; Martinez said the department will show a six-minute video at a future meeting to illustrate their work.
The mayor offered no formal report. Building official and code enforcement each had no report. The public-safety updates were informational and did not require council action at the meeting.
