Payson recognizes youth and employees, swears in new fire marshal

The council set aside time for recognitions and personnel announcements at the start of the Feb. 18 meeting. Mayor William R. Wright and Shelby Bohling presented Mayor’s Youth Recognition Awards to Gemma Wright of Mt. Nebo Middle School and Dzamila Baca Bautista of Payson Junior High; Dzamila later thanked the council.
Judge Jewell administered the Oath of Office to Todd Kilmer, who was introduced as the new Payson City Fire Marshal. Travis Jockumsen introduced Brian Romrell of the Utah Chapter of the American Public Works Association, who presented Dale Carter with the APWA Storm Water Inspector of the Year award. Miss Payson Adrie Rogers described her community service platform "Face Everything and Rise," an initiative she said encourages goal-setting and resilience among youth.
