Lincoln County commissioners authorize Libby Park District ballot measure

The resolution describes a proposed levy that would raise approximately $74,000 per year to manage and maintain outdoor recreation facilities and trails assigned to the Libby Park District and to support the aquatic facility. "It is estimated that $74,000 would as of this date hereof add approximately $5.39 in annual property tax to a home in the district valued at $100,000," the reading of the resolution stated, which also included per-home estimates for $300,000 and $600,000 property values. The resolution notes current funding is insufficient to operate the aquatic facility in accordance with Montana health and safety requirements.
A commissioner moved to approve Resolution 20267 and another seconded; after brief discussion about the district's existing levy and the presentation of the ballot language, the three commissioners present voted in favor. The chair opened the floor for public comment and recorded none. The measure will appear on the May 5, 2026 all-mail ballot if no procedural changes occur.
