Main Street Perk & Pub awarded Cooney Falls concession after health department review

The Lincoln County commissioners voted March 25 to award the Cooney Falls concession to Main Street Perk & Pub after hearing staff and health department reviews of three bids.
Health department staff told the board that Kingdom Barbecue is self‑contained and currently licensed, Cut Above has the simplest, lowest‑risk menu but is not currently an established retail food business, and Main Street Perk proposed a more elaborate menu that will require space and equipment modifications. "Kingdom Barbecue [is] fully self-contained, already set up, good to go," a health department representative said, while adding that Cut Above’s prepackaged plan was low risk if the applicant obtained proper licensing.
Commissioners discussed tradeoffs between price, readiness and food‑safety risk. After motions and a short discussion of water and wastewater arrangements, the board voted to award the concession to Main Street Perk & Pub and directed county staff to draft a contract addressing licensing, water/wastewater plans and building modifications.
County staff said the contract will include health department conditions and that the selected vendor must meet all state and local food‑safety requirements before operation begins.
