Town Attorney Justin reported legal updates to the Milford Town Board, saying a 30‑day period on an active condemnation case is about to expire and the town has effected service on a separate building‑related defendant.
Justin said the town has taken steps to preserve the public project and will pursue default procedures if necessary. “If no action is taken then, then we go through a defaulting process to continue, that in order to make sure the trail project continues like it's supposed to,” he told the board. He added that he had been contacted by the other defendant but had not received any formal compliance filings and that default deadlines on that matter were also imminent.
The attorney did not provide exact hearing dates but told the council he expected activity in the coming days if the parties do not respond. The board did not take a separate vote during the attorney's report but asked staff to continue monitoring next steps and to return any required items to the agenda.
