Council adopts updated city fee schedule, including Payson Innovation Center rates

The Payson City Council approved a revised fee schedule on Feb. 18 that adds new fees for the Payson Innovation Center and updates several existing fee lines for cemetery, utilities and golf course services.
Staff presented the proposed changes and noted many additions were simply codifications of fees already charged in practice. The Innovation Center fees are intended to help recoup operating costs and enable marketing and scheduling; staff said the council will set a fee schedule amendment that allows charging for certain services, and that outreach about Innovation Center offerings will follow the ribbon cutting. Council opened and closed a public hearing on the fee changes and adopted the schedule by roll call. Cemetery staff said they are also recruiting a sexton and will revisit cemetery fees when that position is in place.
Council members said they would publicize Innovation Center opportunities, and staff committed to website and newsletter outreach once fee rules are in effect.
