Patty Graffy, speaking for the downtown association, reviewed recent community events and vendor growth downtown, recounting that the recent paddle competition welcomed 52 participants and that the July 4 activities and vendor participation were strong. "We welcomed 52 participants in that 2 day event," Graffy said, and noted sponsors allowed the group to provide participant goodie bags and $25 gift cards for winners.
Graffy told the council she will leave the CELA Downtown Association on July 24 to become the Yakima Valley Trolleys' first executive director. "Finally, as many of you know, I will be leaving the CELA Downtown Association on July 24... I'm going to the Yakima Valley Trolleys. I'll be their 1st executive director and their 1st employee in over 30 years," she said, and thanked city staff and departments for event support. The council thanked Graffy for her service.
