On second reading the Overland City Council approved an amendment to the city's residential solid-waste contract with Republic Services that will run from Jan. 1, 2027, through Dec. 31, 2031. If enacted, bill 32, 2026 will become Ordinance 202632.
City Attorney Joe introduced the measure to the council before readings and the vote. "I have the following legislation to offer tonight," he said as he presented the ordinance for consideration. Council members conducted first and second readings as required and approved the measure by roll call.
The council did not add conditions during the meeting; the reading and vote focused on the contract amendment as presented. The clerk indicated that, following passage on second reading, the bill will be codified as ordinance number 202632. No public comment specific to the contract was recorded during the meeting. The council moved on to other agenda items after the vote.
