Following discussion of budget constraints, wage scales and employee retention, the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners voted to increase county employee wages by 1.5% as recommended by the compensation board. Commissioners said the increase matches the raise adopted for elected officials and reflected caution given insurance and levy cost trends.
"I would make a motion that we increase the wages for the employees of Lincoln County 1.5%," said a commissioner before the motion was seconded and approved; one commissioner recorded opposition. Commissioners noted turnover and the importance of benefits packages, and directed staff to forward wage adjustments to payroll for implementation.
