County auditor reports sharp increase in registered voters since 2016

Helbert said the county had "crossed 80,54 voters total for the county" as of July 1 and compared that to a little over 70,000 in 2022 and a little over 54,000 in 2016. He summarized the change as roughly a 10,000 increase since 2022 (about 14%) and about a 26,000 gain since 2016 (about 45–46%).
Helbert presented the numbers as context for the county's voter rolls ahead of upcoming elections; he did not propose policy changes at the meeting.
