Dallas County roads staff delivered a broad update July 7 covering bridge replacements, culvert installations and paving projects across the county.
The county has two bridge replacements under construction (B Avenue and H Avenue) with substructure work mostly complete and anticipated completion on or around Sept. 1. Staff said several box culverts (including work on 200th Street) are either built or near completion and that installation is expected in early to mid-August. The F90 paving project was delayed because an aggregate source flooded over the Fourth of July weekend; staff said paving should resume as aggregate becomes available and estimated two to four weeks of paving after restart.
Roads director Andy said the county's road and bridge network is in good overall condition compared with regional peers, and staff will continue diamond-grinding and resurfacing projects to improve ride quality. The board asked about traffic impacts from a separate state closure on Highway 169 and staff said coordination with the DOT is ongoing to limit disruption.
