The Council unanimously approved an easement allowing Rocky Mountain Power to relocate underground power lines needed to service a new AT&T cell tower at Discovery Park.
City Attorney Christine Petersen explained the motion: "The existing power lines are not exactly in the easement already granted," and Rocky Mountain Power needs an adjusted underground right-of-way to install transmission for the tower at approximately 100 East and 1555 North. The Council voted to authorize the mayor to sign the easement grant as Resolution 2026-26.
The easement is a technical step in a previously approved lease for the tower; staff said the relocation will allow AT&T to construct the permitted tower and move forward with the project.
