Property owner urges Lincoln County to pursue watershed study after Libby Creek floods

Mike Fania, a property owner on Farm to Market Road, told commissioners that homes and infrastructure in south Lincoln County were “hammered by the floods a couple weeks ago” and asked the county to lead a coordinated watershed study of Libby Creek.
Fania said he had spoken with multiple state and federal agencies — including the U.S. Forest Service, DEQ, Fish, Wildlife & Parks, county planning, the Army Corps and private engineers — and that private landowners cannot directly apply for some resiliency funding. “I would love for the county to be proactive and work with these entities … and have a public meeting,” he said, asking the board to seek funding and plan mitigation rather than rely on individual property solutions (SEG 327–403).
