Newly elected trustee sworn; board re-elects Langley as president

The Inyo County Board of Education declared the winners of the recent election and took immediate steps to seat and organize the board. Superintendent Barry D. Simpson administered the oath of office to David Hefner; Jessica Tex was confirmed as a winner but Simpson said she will be sworn in next week in the superintendent’s office. The meeting was called to order at 1:02 p.m. and a quorum was confirmed.
During the action session the board held its annual reorganization. David Hefner nominated Chris Langley to remain board president; George Lozito nominated Hefner to remain vice president and Joe Profita to remain clerk. The nominations were approved by motion 4-0. The minutes record that the reorganization vote carried unanimously and that the board will continue with the officers elected for the coming term.
