The Inyo County Board of Education voted to approve standards-aligned textbooks and instructional materials for grades 9–12 in English language arts, mathematics, history–social science and science for the 2024–25 school year. Trustee Joe Profita moved the curriculum approval, Trustee George Lozito seconded the motion, and the item passed 4–0.
Following the curriculum approval, the Board adopted Resolution 2024-06 to certify the sufficiency of textbook and instructional materials and compliance with Education Code 60119. Vice President David Hefner moved the resolution, Profita seconded, and the resolution passed 4–0. Superintendent Barry D. Simpson summarized the materials used by JKBS students and staff during the public hearing preceding the vote. The public hearing record shows one member of the public present who did not offer comments.
