Treehouse Therapies' director Sean Diaz told the council the nonprofit has opened a new outpatient pediatric clinic in Sisters offering an intensive program called Aspen (Adventures in Sensory Processing and Emotional), which pairs behavioral-health clinicians with occupational therapists to coach caregivers and stabilize children with complex needs.
Diaz said the model runs six to seven months with weekly in‑clinic sessions, weekly telehealth for parents and a monthly group. He reported the initial cohort includes 21 families, with about 20 percent from Sisters and the remainder traveling from Bend and Redmond; the clinic has remodeled four treatment rooms and is coordinating referrals with schools and regional partners. The city provided a community grant to buy gas cards to help travel‑distance families; Diaz said 10 gas cards have been distributed so far.
Councilors welcomed the service and encouraged Treehouse Therapies to apply for future community grants; staff and local nonprofits indicated they will continue referral coordination. Diaz said Treehouse will start recruitment for a March cohort and is hiring additional staff to expand capacity.
