Jacoby Creek trustees approve safety plan, expanded-learning update and personnel actions

The Jacoby Creek School District Board of Trustees met Feb. 10, 2025, and approved a series of routine and required items, including the Comprehensive School Safety Plan and the district’s triennial Expanded Learning Opportunities Plan update. Trustee Cheryl Svehla moved to approve the safety plan; Trustee Alexis George seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved a one-year unpaid leave for third-grade teacher Megan Day, accepted resignations from Sixth Grade Teacher Holly Couling and Social Emotional Learning Coach Olivia Camenga, and approved December 2024 board policy updates at first reading. Trustee Alexis George moved to approve the interdistrict transfer agreement for 2025–2026, which will be shared with the Humboldt County Office of Education. All recorded motions passed unanimously.
