ERTH flags cannabis permits, blue-oak removal and interim county ordinance on next board agenda

ERTH’s Land Use Committee reported code enforcement inquiries into two cannabis projects based on CDD annual inspections and alleged reporting lapses. The committee flagged what it described as an "apparent 800% overuse of water" at one project and circulated a Request for Review regarding the Lake County Investment Group’s proposed expansion from 5 to 11.9 acres on Highway 53; the ERTH letter, approved by a majority of four members with one non-response, was submitted to the Community Development Department.
Ryan Wamburgh, the cannabis code enforcement officer, told the group he will review documents and schedule a site visit. The county’s proposed interim Cannabis Ordinance Update is scheduled for consideration at the next Board of Supervisors meeting, according to the ERTH update. ERTH also expressed concern about the reported removal of an estimated 457 blue oaks associated with the expansion proposal.
