“Our discharge on July 19… we have a lot of high ammonia due to the heat,” John said, and added that staff are seeing organics and methane bubbling up in the system, which they are managing with increased chlorine dosing (around 40–50 pounds per day). The council did not record any violations but noted each discharge event has different operational needs and asked staff to monitor conditions.
