City staff recommended abandoning a 1970s-era reservoir on 500 West and installing a new line with a pressure-reducing valve station. Tyson Jackson explained the existing tank’s maintenance challenges and the benefits of freeing the site for park or other uses while modernizing water infrastructure.
The council voted unanimously to award the 500 West Reservoir Abandonment & New Line Project to Ormond Construction for $523,039.15. The motion was moved by Councilmember David Marriott and seconded by Councilmember Sara Urry; the vote was 5-0.
