Council approves mayor’s three-year pay proposal for city prosecutor in 4–1 vote

Pleasant View’s council voted 4–1 to approve the mayor’s proposed three-year compensation plan for the city’s prosecuting attorney. Andrea Steiniger explained the proposals and said the current prosecutor, Gage Arnold, has served the city for 10 years and sought salary increases toward parity with the judge’s salary; the mayor’s tiered proposal was adopted by motion of Councilmember David Marriott.
During discussion, Councilmember Marriott asked whether the prosecutor’s workload matched that of the judge; Andrea Steiniger and Stetson Talbot both said the prosecutor’s workload is substantial. The final vote was 4 in favor and 1 opposed (Councilmember Sara Urry voted nay).
