Kimball council votes to consolidate 2026 election with Brule County and combine wards

The Kimball City Council voted Dec. 29 to combine the 2026 election with Brule County and the Kimball School District. The motion was made by Matt Bilben and seconded by Dayle Blasius and carried 4-0.
Council later approved a motion by Harold Bickner, seconded by Bilben, authorizing Mayor Bill Gough to sign the 2026 Combined Election Agreement with Brule County and Kimball School. Separately, the council voted to combine wards for the 2026 election on a motion by Bickner, second by Bilben; that motion also passed unanimously.
