Information Technology Manager Jeff Robelard said the December quote was valid through Dec. 19 but that Dell subsequently notified the town of a sharp price increase, pushing the updated estimate to about $34,000. Robelard described the market pressures: "DDR5 RAM prices across the board have gone up significantly," he said. Board members discussed whether to appropriate extra contingency, whether a special meeting could be called so the RTM would have funding on its schedule, and how to proceed to avoid repeated supplemental requests. The board approved the appropriation to forward to the RTM; members asked staff to explore holds, return policies, or a larger single appropriation to cover volatility.
