District engineer reports inlet grate replacements about 80% complete, notes stormwater capacity reached during Tropical Storm Debbie

District Engineer Charlie Krebs told the board the MRI project to replace Pinehurst valley gutter inlet grates is approximately 80% complete and he will follow up on the schedule for asphalt patching.
Krebs reported that after Tropical Storm Debbie the stormwater system flowed but reached its capacity in places; some parts of the community received nearly 8 inches of rain in two to three days (the roads are designed for 5.5 inches in 24 hours). A resident said standing water was coming up through a slab and causing mold; Mr. Krebs said he does not believe the standing water is the cause because other units did not report similar issues. He suggested The Club could add a drainage connection to E1-A to allow water to bypass pipes and flow directly into the lake.
