River Ridge board accepts resignation of supervisor James Gilman; vacancy outreach planned

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term expires November 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. The board then discussed filling the unexpired term by appointment rather than election; Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager will e-blast residents with candidate qualifications and ask interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. The board approved acceptance of the resignation on a motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly, with all in favor.
The board also noted that oath-of-office paperwork and required ethics training materials (Form 1, Form 8B, Guide to Sunshine Amendment) will be provided for any appointee. Staff will include the candidate materials on the next meeting agenda.
