The presenter said OHCHR recorded reports from local authorities of 1,846 civilian casualties in the Russian Federation in the first half of the year (250 killed and 1,596 injured), a 121% increase compared with the same period in 2025. The presenter used these figures to illustrate a trend of rising civilian harm on both sides of the conflict.
