Carlos Juan Santiago told BronxNet that Orchard Beach’s Sundays of salsa run from the Memorial Day weekend through the week after Labor Day and generally operate from about 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. “Empezamos el fin de semana de Memorial Day y terminamos una semana después del fin de semana de Labor Day,” he said, and added that they also perform on Labor Day Monday.
He said the events take place in Section 5 near the courts (not the restored bathhouse in Section 8). For attendees without cars he suggested taking the 6 train to the last stop and transferring to the BX29 bus, or using the BX12 from upper Manhattan; he also noted the beachfront bus terminal and ride‑hail options as practical ways to reach the site.
