Commissioners say June–July is critical to place T-SPLOST on November ballot

Commissioners agreed staff should work with city officials to compile a county-and-city project list and that intergovernmental agreements (IGAs) will be needed in July if the board wants to proceed. One commissioner said that while 0.5% to 1% "doesn't sound like much," additional tax measures typically meet resistance from some voters, so outreach and clear project lists are important.
The board did not take a vote in the work session but directed staff to continue the timeline and discussions with municipal partners so that required steps (project lists, IGAs) can be completed by the end of July if the board pursues a November referendum.
