At the May 20 meeting, Cherokee County commissioners approved a series of SPLOST‑funded procurement and contract items presented by the county manager. Key approvals included Amendment 2 to KRH Architects’ contract for Fire Station 7 renovations in the amount of $105,000; purchase of a 36'x70' modular classroom for the Fire and Emergency Services training center for $263,858; and award of the Allatoona Pass drainage improvements contract to Azimuth Contractors, LLC for $821,818.62.
The board also approved Change Order 3 to the Hickory Road sidewalk project with an increase of $56,942.70 to address field conditions, a materials testing services agreement with Nova Engineering and Environmental, LLC with an annual not‑to‑exceed value of $100,000, and Amendment 4 to Atlas Technical Consultants for updated appraisal work in the Bells Ferry condemnation litigation for $82,060. All items were approved unanimously as presented; the county manager noted SPLOST as the funding source for the capital projects.
