Board moves to set public hearing and explore annexation for Park Place rezoning

The board scheduled a public hearing to consider a rezoning request by Park Place Developers (case 25-4-010) after staff outlined the applicant's revised plan that reduced lot count and removed several setback variances. Zoning administrator Mr. Treywick told commissioners that the applicant reduced lots from 38 to 34 and revised buffers and easements following the Planning Commission hearing.
Commissioner Corey Ragsdale, whose district includes the property, said his preference was that the site be annexed into the City of Woodstock because the revised plan creates a direct connection to a neighborhood inside the city. "My preference would be that this just be annexed into the city of Woodstock," Ragsdale said, and he moved to set a public hearing at the next appropriate date and asked staff to examine amending the growth boundary agreement. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The board directed staff to schedule the hearing and return with recommended language or timeline to amend the growth boundary agreement if appropriate.
The Planning Commission had recommended denial, but the applicant's revisions prompted commissioners to allow further public process and potential Annexation discussion with Woodstock officials before a final decision.
