The Industrial Development Authority voted to permit the Sheriff’s Office to use Raven Elementary School for Special Response Team (SRT) tactical training.
Economic Development Manager Ashley Harris told the board the training would include drone training and clearing the building in halls and classrooms and would occur once a month for about four hours. The board approved the request 6–0, with the understanding documented in an email from Mr. Danielson that the Sheriff's Office will pay for any damages and that the IDA can cancel the arrangement on 30 days' notice.
The authorization is limited to use of the facility for training; it does not modify ownership or a longer-term disposition of Raven Elementary. The board separately added property disposition of Raven Elementary to the executive-session agenda for further discussion.
