At its May 13 meeting the Industrial Development Authority approved routine governance items: the April 8 minutes, the May invoice summary (which included a $20 payment to VCEDA to file a loan termination for Clinch River Forest Products), and April bank statements for the General and Grant accounts. Several votes recorded Rachel Patton abstaining when she had not been present at the earlier meeting; all approvals otherwise passed by the board.
Economic Development Director Tim Danielson told the board the department is actively tracking 10 projects representing roughly $1.1 billion in potential capital investment, 131 net new jobs and an estimated $8.7 million in annual payroll. Danielson also reported ongoing marketing work around Bluestone Technology Park and follow-up proposals to be presented at the July IDA meeting.
