The Lawrence MPO Policy Board unanimously approved an updated Title VI program manual and authorized the chair to sign the MPO Title VI policy statements and assurances. Jessica, MPO staff, told the board the manual—last updated in 2022—details how the MPO complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and establishes a Title VI coordinator and staff responsibilities. "We are bringing for your consideration today an update to our title 6 program manual," Jessica said, noting the updates reflect staff commitments and notices posted on agendas and the MPO website.
TAC recommended approval of the updated manual at its June 2 meeting, Jessica said, and staff asked the policy board to approve the document and permit the chair to execute required assurances. Chair called for a roll-call vote; the motion carried unanimously with four voting members recorded as yes. Staff emphasized the manual documents how residents can file complaints and how the MPO will coordinate with state and federal partners if complaints are received.
