Council amends levy-resolution language, introduces ODOT, NOPEC and Hiram Community Trust measures

Council introduced multiple resolutions on first reading. Resolution 2026-04 would authorize participation in the ODOT 2026 road salt contracts; the minutes note a special council meeting planned for July 14, 2026 in connection with that item. Resolution 2026-05 would authorize acceptance of a NOPEC 2026 Energized Community Grant and was read with an emergency clause on first reading.
Resolution 2026-06 would submit a renewal levy question under Ohio Revised Code section 5705.19(A). Councilmember J. Fernandez moved to amend the resolution to state that "the total current tax valuation of the Village is $13,011,024" and that "the dollar amount revenue that would be generated by that 4.4 mill renewal levy would be $38,938," and to replace the date "February 4, 2026" with "Aug 3, 2026," leaving a blank for section 5(i). Resolution 2026-07 would authorize application for grant funds from the Hiram Community Trust; the minutes reference a July 13 special council meeting in connection with that resolution. The minutes do not record final votes on these resolutions at this meeting.
