Leola council OKs stump grinding, mower gearbox replacement and new council chairs

Maintenance reported that the Walker mower needs a new gearbox and that a spare mower remains operable. The council approved a $1,250 quote from Brian Walz Stump Grinding to grind 36 stumps around the ball field after a park committee motion (Reis/Wimer) to do so. The Buildings & Equipment committee moved to purchase a gearbox for the Walker mower to install over the winter; the motion carried.
The Piggy Bank asked for permission to use the city basement to sort donations; the request was noted in the minutes. The minutes do not list a purchase price for the mower gearbox or a delivery timeline for the chairs or parts.
