Judicial Council honors retiring leaders and new appointments at Feb. 20 meeting

Chief Justice Guerrero congratulated Daryl Parker on his retirement as CEO of the Santa Barbara Superior Court and noted his nearly four decades of service and leadership on advisory bodies. Parker responded, saying it had been an honor to serve and highlighting the value of working relationships across the branch.
Administrative Director Shelly Curran announced the arrival of a new chief administrative officer (Bridal Sperbeck) effective Feb. 9 and introduced Erica in person. Curran also read a resolution honoring Debbie Brown, the council’s chief legal officer, who is retiring after 28 years of public service; Brown thanked the council and said she was humbled and gratified by her time with the branch: “This is far more than I would have expected, and I am so humbled to be here and so gratified to have spent 28 years of my life working with the judicial branch,” she said.
