Board approves small meal-price increases and continues Notre Dame lunch contract

District food-service staff presented recommended meal-price updates for 2026–27 based on USDA guidance and rising operating costs. The board approved the price schedule and several vendor awards.
Vita (food service staff) explained the changes: "As far as the, adult prices, they set that amount and they put it at no less than $5.14 for school lunches. And so, I raised them 6¢ just to give it a $5.20 instead of a $5.14." She told the board the district typically raises student meal prices by about $0.05 per year and noted the district still qualifies for the community eligibility program, meaning many students will not be charged for meals. The board approved the meal-pricing motion by voice vote.
Vendors: staff recommended awarding the bread contract to Breadbender and continuing with the current milk vendor after receiving few bids. On the Notre Dame arrangement, staff said the district will continue delivering lunches under the same contract language and increase the per-meal charge to that school by about $0.10 to cover higher transportation and supply costs; the board approved the agreement.
