Code enforcement officer Nate Anderson reports narcotics activity and administrative citations at 58 Main Street

Code Enforcement Officer Nate Anderson told the Isleton City Council that narcotics activity has begun to surface in the city and that he is coordinating with the district attorney and the sheriff's office.

"There's already some narcotics issues that are popping up here around the city," Anderson said, noting that he could not give specific details about locations or individuals because of ongoing investigations. He identified 58 Main Street as an ongoing complaint that has moved into the administrative citation process and said that the city has begun assessing fines.

Anderson also reported a cleanup and security action at 104 4th Street. He said the property27s garbage and debris have been removed, doors secured, and that the sheriff's office made arrests for trespassing during a recent visit.

In response to a council question about the legal character of the violations, Anderson said they represent a combination of nuisance and criminal activity but are "more on the criminal side," and he confirmed the incidents are occurring within city limits. Anderson said the district attorney's office performed a drive-through with the sheriff's office, is preparing correspondence to property owners and is backing code enforcement efforts.

No formal charges or prosecutorial outcomes were announced at the meeting. Anderson said staff will continue investigations, pursue the appropriate administrative or criminal remedies and perform reinspection where needed.
