MSA Professional Services presented the official kickoff of the Holy Hill Gateway District master plan, outlining a process that will refine the village's 2050 comprehensive plan with detailed land-use concepts and potential public improvements. Olivia Bolton, an assistant planner with MSA, told the plan commission that the project team has completed early data collection but "No specific recommendations or ideas have been created at this time," and said the next steps will center on focused public engagement and an issues-and-opportunities activity with the commission.
Jeff (community development staff) reminded the commission that the master plan will be adopted as a refinement to the 2050 plan and will inform future zoning and development regulations. MSA said the process includes focus groups with local developers and landowners, a public open house (Aug. 25), a neighborhood visioning workshop (Sept. 8), online mapping tools, and additional outreach; MSA aims for a draft plan public open house in January 2027 and plan approval in February 2027. The commission directed staff and MSA to coordinate outreach to nearby neighborhoods and community events to maximize participation.
