BAPS outlines new Hoover Mandir and community center opening this summer

Representatives of BAPS addressed the council to announce a new Mandir and community center planned in Hoover and to invite the public to opening weekend July 31–August 2, 2026. Agna, a BAPS representative, described the organization as a “global Hindu socio spiritual organization” and said the new Mandir in Hoover will “serve as a place for worship, learning, service, and community connection for generations to come.”
Bhavik Patel, who identified himself as a Hoover resident, and Agna detailed community programs tied to the Mandir—annual health fairs, blood drives, disaster relief and cultural events—and said BAPS has contributed more than 32,000 volunteer hours to the project. The presenters listed prior local activity in Birmingham and framed the new site as part of an expanding partnership with the Hoover community.
