Cochran council updates personnel rules: temporary promotion changes, travel approvals, adopts GSA per diem

Council voted unanimously to approve amendments to the temporary promotion policy in the personnel handbook. Mayor Pro Tem Shane Savant made the motion to approve the changes and Councilman Gary Ates seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Council also considered and approved amendments to the employee travel policy requiring City Manager approval for all travel and specifically for any overnight stay less than 50 miles away. Mayor Pro Tem Savant moved to approve the amended Employee Travel Policy and Council adopted GSA guidelines for Mayor and Council per diem for travel (motion by Savant, second by Councilwoman Dianne Lester). These changes will be implemented through the personnel handbook and travel authorization procedures.
