During the public comment portion of the meeting, Ms. Evelyn Costa of 273 Elizabeth Street asked councilors to consider a variance to the city’s alcohol ordinance to permit a wine establishment to operate without the ordinance’s current food-service requirement. "She requested consideration of a variance allowing a wine establishment to operate without the current food service requirement," the minutes record.
Interim City Manager Angela Redding acknowledged receipt of Mr. Michael Chaudari’s separate variance request and advised both requests would be reviewed during a future work session. Council did not take immediate action and directed staff to place the item on a work session agenda for further review.
