Rodney Hoyt delivered the Selectboard’s road report and flagged a drainage problem at Tammy Mullens’ driveway on Hoyt Hill, saying the town’s options are to install larger outlets or for the property owner to install a culvert. "The mower parts have been ordered. These are $6000 in parts," Rodney Hoyt reported, and he added that hydraulic parts for Larry’s truck have been ordered under warranty and the vehicle will be sent to Burlington once parts arrive. On dust control, Hoyt told the board he would "get some chloride on it tomorrow" in response to a request to treat Spring Road from resident Rick Barnaby.
Selectboard Chair Gary Mullen questioned longer-term options for dust suppression and suggested using Lebanon stone, which he said appears "less dusty," as an alternative that might reduce chloride demand over time. The board discussed equipment lead times and logistics: a new truck is expected to arrive in about three weeks and recent paving on Strafford Road was reported to have gone well.
Next steps: Hoyt will schedule chloride application on Spring Road and monitor road conditions during the drought; the board did not take further budget action at this meeting.
