Leola council sets 2025 wages after executive session; salaried staff get 3% raise

After entering executive session at 6:48 p.m. for personnel matters, the City of Leola City Council reconvened and set wages for 2025 on Dec. 30, 2024. The recorded action granted a 3% wage increase to salaried employees; the head librarian and custodian will each receive a $3.30/hour increase; fill‑in librarian pay set at the new minimum wage; and pool employees will receive a $0.30/hour increase. The motion to set wages was moved by Jackie Rau with a second from Alan Wimer and carried.
The meeting minutes note that the mayor, council, council, zoning and credit board members will all be paid the same (no differing stipend changes recorded). The executive session began at 6:48 p.m. and ended at 7:08 p.m.; community members and the finance officer temporarily left the meeting during the session.
