Maintenance and committee reports on Sept. 5 described several near-term public-works items: the new street sweeper had been delivered; the oversized dumpster will be in Leola from Sept. 16 through Oct. 18 for fall cleanup; and gravel roads need blading. The Streets committee thanked McPherson County Highway Department for patching work performed on town streets.
Park and pool items included identification of rusted playground equipment at the dam that needs removal, repairs needed on the north dock at the dam, and a pool leak that will be investigated further in spring. The Buildings & Equipment committee reported the Municipal Building hot water heater needs replacement. These items were entered into the minutes for follow-up by the appropriate committees and staff.
