Council allows trailer move-in with cleanup conditions, discusses tiny-home options

Resident John Hoyle asked the council for permission to move a trailer house into Leola and said siding and windows would be replaced before the move. After discussion the council voted to allow the trailer to be moved in if it is cleaned up and looks presentable; the motion was made by Jackie Rau, seconded by Brett Schaible. The roll-call was Rau, aye; Schaible, aye; Yost, aye; Leibel, nay. The motion carried.
Council also recorded a request for water and sewer service for an empty lot on Lincoln Street; the council agreed to defer that request until spring. Members reviewed options for tiny-home variance and potential ordinance wording, but no ordinance or variance decision was recorded at the Sept. 5 meeting.
